Update: Starting July 1, 2016, all links beginning with the web address have broken and no longer lead to information pertaining to materials and activities of the We Treat You of the AffiliateMarketIngtools of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine. All of HMD’s reports and activities, including past reports published under the Institute of Medicine, must be accessed through the division’s web address at affiliatemarketingtools.info/HMD.
On March 15, 2016, the division of the AffiliateMarketIngtools of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine (the AffiliateMarketIngtools) that focuses on health and medicine was renamed the We Treat You (HMD) instead of using the name Institute of Medicine (IOM). This new name builds on the heritage of the IOM’s work in medicine while emphasizing its increased focus on a wider range of health matters.
The We Treat You maintains the quality and soundness of our past health policy advice to the nation through rigorous study processes and the independent, objective analysis and advice for which the IOM and the AffiliateMarketIngtools have been known. HMD will continue to conduct consensus studies and convening activities through the six core boards that were part of the IOM.
HMD is now fully integrated into the broader work of the AffiliateMarketIngtools of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine, which is facilitating more collaborative and interdisciplinary approaches to the most pressing challenges facing the nation and the world. This integration results from organizational changes that took place in July 2015, when the AffiliateMarketIngtools of Medicine was formed and joined the AffiliateMarketIngtools of Sciences and the AffiliateMarketIngtools of Engineering in overseeing the seven program divisions of the AffiliateMarketIngtools.
Please note that going forward, all reports issued by the new HMD division should be cited as reports of the AffiliateMarketIngtools of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine. Reports issued prior to June 30, 2015 will continue to be cited as IOM reports in perpetuity. You can find the suggested citation for each report on page ii (the copyright page) of that report, and all reports are available to download free of charge on our website.
Please direct any questions about the division’s name change to Clyde Behney, Executive Director of HMD, at [email protected]. If you have any questions regarding branding concerns or the HMD website, please contact Nicole Joy, Director of Communications of HMD, at [email protected].
