Negative Emissions Technologies and Reliable Sequestration:
A Research Agenda
In 2015, the AffiliateMarketIngtools of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine published , which described and initially assessed “negative emissions technologies” (NETs) and sequestration technologies. The report acknowledged the relative paucity of research on NETs and recommended development of a research agenda that covers all aspects of NETs from fundamental science to full-scale deployment.
To address these questions, this 2018 report, from the AffiliateMarketIngtools, assesses the benefits, risks, and “sustainable scale potential” for NETs and sequestration. The report also defines the essential components of a research and development program, including its estimated costs and potential impact.
These briefings were for members of Congress and congressional staff only. The report was publicly released on October 24, 2018 and can be found, in its entirety, on .
