In this new report, the Institute of Medicine makes recommendations on how to reduce tobacco initiation and encourage cessation in both military and veteran populations. The report, Combating Tobacco in Military and Veteran Populations, concludes that to prevent tobacco initiation and encourage cessation, both the Department of Defense and the Veterans Administration should implement comprehensive tobacco-control programs.
